Tribute to Kieran Halpin (1955 - 2020)
During the pandemic I have watched a lot of videos. There were days and especially nights where I couldn't rest without music. I could always find comfort and inspiration in songs. But only a few of all my favourite songs had hit me like "All The Answers" did. There is a video on youTube where Kieran plays the song so straight and with such a powerful strumming - that was the one that got me. After listening to it over and over again I knew the lyrics by heart and grabbed one of my guitars with an open tuning. So I found my own version and tried to record it. It took me a whole day but I couldn't get it right, I felt so powerless that I had to stop both playing and recording. The next day I got up from bed, had a coffee and went right into my little bookchamber studio. I did only one take because I was still feeling weak.
"All The Answers" will always be sung, I'm pretty sure about that.
Farewell Kieran & thank you for all the great songs you have left us.
